SPOT Tools Release Notes
v0.6.1
Documentation changes only.
Fixes and Internal Improvements:
- Reflects changes in the firmware that simplify port selection..
v0.6.0
Addresses an issue in which a channel shows up as part of a list of which it is not a member. This release goes along with corresponding changes to firmware 0.0.8.
Firmware compatibility — important: If you wish to preserve the current configuration (channels, lists, receiver settings) of your receiver, please read the configuration from your receiver, then save it to a file. Write that file back to the receiver after it has been upgraded to v0.0.8.
Fixes and Internal Improvements:
- SPOT Tools and SPOT Writer now write all channel list memberships exclusively to dedicated SPOT storage, including an explicit empty membership list.
- No longer writes scan-list membership into legacy channel attribute or channel-name bytes. This prevents stale legacy data from making a channel appear in an unintended list.
- Updated compatibility checks and guidance for the new storage format.
v0.5.1
Protect receiver-specific configuration and calibration data when sharing or programming receiver files.
Features, Enhancements, Refinements:
- Displays the receiver's unique device ID in Advanced Options after reading a receiver.
- Configuration-file saves exclude receiver-specific settings by default. You can explicitly include them when creating a file for that receiver.
- Calibration downloads use the receiver ID in their default filename, making radio-specific backup files easier to identify.
Fixes and Internal Improvements:
- Warns before writing a configuration or calibration file whose receiver ID does not match the connected receiver. The same protection is available in SPOT Writer.
v0.5.0
Support the SPOT Firmware meter-strength display option, including configuration-file and receiver read/write support.
Features, Enhancements, Refinements:
- Replaced the Display BPM setting with independent Meter Display checkboxes for BPM and signal strength.
-
Added
display_strengthsupport to JSON and XLSX configuration files. The optional setting defaults to off when it is omitted. - Reads and writes the receiver's persistent meter-strength display setting.
v0.4.5
Support additional features of SPOT Firmware. Improved SPOT Writer and documentation.
Features, Enhancements, Refinements:
- Added a Frequency Offset field to the Advanced Options area. This field controls receiver-wide frequency calibration in hertz.
-
Added a
write-startedmessage in SPOT Writer. - Added a SPOT Writer Integration Guide to the Developer documentation.
Fixes and Internal Improvements:
- Removed some code that duplicated existing functionality.
